Walker - Sadie - Cookeville, TN
Sadie Walker AKC-CGC, AKC Reg.
Ken and Marty Walker
I would like to introduce myself. I am Sadie Walker, a pure bred Swiss Bernese Mountain Dog born in Fairmount, IN at The Hitching Post.
My father’s name is Harley like my sister’s and my mother’s name is Sophie.
After I was eight weeks old and able to be sent out into the world I was bought by a lady in FL. I lived with her for about 22 months then she had to move into a new home. I could not come with her since I weighted too much, she could only take pets that where ten pounds or under. I am only a baby bear.
I was put into the paper for sale, and Sloan Shepard from Chattahoochee Valley Bernese Mountain Dog Club saw the ad. The Walkers were on their list again for adopting a Berner. Sloan emailed the Walkers about the ad and they called FL and in no time they were on their way to FL to pick me up.
The next day, I got to meet my new parents and a dog called Harley, my soon to be sister. Everyone talked a long time and my owner started crying and I got into a van with my new sister Harley. I did not know what was going on, I was scared but soon the Walkers made me calm.
This was the longest ride I have ever been on in my life. I did sleep a lot and that did help. When we finally got to my new home, Dad took me to my new fenced in backyard and it was so big. Harley and I played and ran around. Oh it was so nice to be out of that van and not moving! I just knew I would have fun with my new family the Walkers. I was spayed so I could not have unwanted puppies.
A few months went by, then I started going to agility classes. Man is that fun to do. You get to run over and through obstacles of all kinds. After that I started going to basic obedience class. Of course, I passed. I am great. Then on to getting my AKC Canine Good Citizen. Again I passed with flying colors. Don’t Berners pass all of our tests?
Winter came and I just cuddle up in bed with my family. I forget to tell you I have three cat sisters and one cat bother. We get along great. The Walkers are training me to be a Service Dog for my Mommy. She has MS and needs me to help her walk and keep her balance. I might take a Therapy Dog class soon just to keep up my learning I love to learn new things. Soon I will have a degree in ‘DOG’ WOOF.
