Bruno of Kersey Valley
Born January 26, 2005 – Adopted September 2006
BG # 42666

Bruno has more energy than any other Berner we’ve ever met. He was purchased from a pet store by a young couple who went in to buy a miniature dachshund. We can all understand how a Berner puppy can capture your heart. They had a little boy who was the same age as Bruno. The young man was very fond of Bruno and worked with him, but the wife did not share in his affection for Bruno. And Bruno grew. Because of his boundless energy and increasing size, they began to worry that he might accidentally hurt their son and banished him to the back yard. Then they decided to find him a new home.

The young man put an ad on the internet which was seen by many on the berner-l who feared that Bruno might be purchased by some unscrupulous person who would put him in a cage and use him for breeding. John and Nell Ward contacted the young man and offered to help find a good home for Bruno. We first agreed to foster him until we could find him a good family, but we all know how that goes.

We picked him up in late September and the following week we took all three dogs on an eleven day road trip to Arkansas and Kansas. He quickly became a part of our family and has been such a positive influence on our BARC’s Becca, teaching her all about toys, playing, and sharing her back seat of the van.

Bruno is our entertainer, starting and ending our days with something goofy. He’s the original snuggle bug, always the first on the couch as soon as anyone sits down. He’s the explorer when we’re out walking in the woods, nose and tail going a mile a minute. His enthusiastic greeting when we come home has left nose art on the door almost
to the top! His perpetual grin and the intensity with which he looks you in the eye make him such a special Berner.
